I'm in Trouble

Well.....I've gotten myself in a mess:( I started removing Anna's wallpaper and I am in bad trouble indeed. I have removed approximately 2,500 sq. ft. of wallpaper from this house and I thought I had encountered every kind of wallpaper problem there could be, but alas...I was wrong.
Girls, this paper will NOT come off.
This small corner of the room has taken me over 12 hours.:( I've tried Downey and hot water. I've tried vinegar and hot water. I've let the solutions set....but the problem is this. When the room was built, they did not prime the walls as they were suppose to AND they used gorilla glue. Well, probably not, but, whatever kind of glue it is I have never encountered such a thing.
It is only coming off in teeny, tiny pieces. I've torn the sheet rock multiple times already from trying to soak the paper too long, which means extensive repair work. My only hope now is that my dear, sweet hubby will come to my rescue once again and save the day by......putting up bead board for us:) Yep....I've got a new plan. Wish me luck!!

We have had the same problem in our house. It's a nightmare! We even chose to paint over the wallpaper in the kitchen (such a no-no) to avoid what we knew would be a completely horrid experience to try to remove it. And I got severe allergic reactions to the wallboard/wallpaper dust in the rooms where we did remove it. In the bathroom we did the beadboard fix. We still have horrible worn grasscloth that needs to be removed from the foyer and on up the stairwell somehow. You have my total sympathy.

I'm so sorry to hear about your frustrating situation. We're getting ready to have wallpaper removed in our kitchen. I wanted to tell you that Susan at "Between Naps on the Porch" had a major battle with some wallpaper last year, and she found a product that professional wallpaper removers use. It's a liquid solution called "Safe and Simple" and you can order it online. Here's the URL for that particular post where she tells all about the product and how to use it:

I hope this helps. Thanks for your visit and for your sweet comments. I ordered the French Country Diary from Amazon last November.

Have a great day!

I feel your pain! Have you tried the DIF wp remover from zinsser in a gel form? I am getting ready to start a wp removal project and picked some up at walmart...i'm hoping the gel form will make it stay put and work better...a girl can HOPE right?
However, I like your plan B of beadboard!
